So the Celebration of lights is an awesome three day event where top countries compete via a fireworks show. The event has an official website right here http://hondacelebrationoflight.com/
If you are in vancouver on july 25, 29 and/or August 1 this is a must. You can essentially see the fireworks from any beach on english bay. But often they do fireworks that form shapes and such, for example canada would make a red maple leaf outline and direct it towards the audience on the dt/west end/ stanley park beaches. I saw them from the jericho side every year and it is just as fantastic, but less crowded which is a win for me.
If you have a laptop or smartphone nearby you can also listen to the music synchronize with the fireworks. Or just play Katy Perrys "Fireworks song" on repeat...at your own peril? or delight?
