I was only able to do this by not over-thinking the situation in the events leading up to it. That and the quote my friend told me: "Sometimes, your only available transportation is a leap of faith."

I finally got up the nerve to finish this goal at Canada's Wonderland with my two friends Luke and Nick. Not only did it top every other ride that day but it was the most adrenaline packed fun I have ever had. I was lucky enough (after much insisting) to be the one to pull the rope that made us fall too. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Too bad we couldn't take any videos of it...

This has been my dream from the moment I saw it on tv for the first time - which was a long time ago. But I put it in the 'yeah, right' category, right after riding a unicorn and before getting paid for doing nothing in life. I simply didn't think I could bring myself to do it.

Then, when I was about 17, I figured - hey, why the heck not? Bungee ropes are not extinct like unicorns (THOSE DID WALK THE EARTH. THEY DID D:), I'm not afraid of heights...too much, and it's DOABLE. Took it off the 'yeah, right' list, and put it on the 'GAHH mom just let me do it already' one. Then I kind of stopped thinking about it until some six months ago, when I decided it was time to check out bungee jumps in Poland, cause I'm not underage anymore (you're an adult when you're 18 here in Poland, I'm almost 20 now). But I didn't really have any money for those that I did find (being a university student away from home and all), so once again it got delayed.

And then, last Wednesday, a friend of a friend goes '...and this bungee crane they'll be putting there...', and I'm like what. Say that again? And for how much?

Turned out, not much. I gave him money to buy me a ticket on the spot, and Friday the 13th (! :D) of May, I jumped.

And it was glorious.

I screamed like a bitch, but I'm doing it again some time soon.

EDIT:

On 15th of October 2011, I managed to jump a second time :D This time it was a bit higher (90m compared to last time's 50m) and man, was I scared. But of course it was worth it - and I intend to do it again!

EDIT2:

19th of May 2012, third time! The weather was much better than the last time, but the view still didn't compare to the first one. Each ticket for the bungee crane was eligible to win you a parachute jump from 4000 metres :O But sadly, mine didn't win. I guess I'll have to pay for that one by myself :P No pictures this time, as the SD card was ruined. So you can say I tripled my bucketlist goal! And that's not the end of bungee jumping for me ;)

I did bungee jumping back around 5 years ago in Lake Taupo, New Zealand. It was over a massive canyon with a river running through. They were able to calibrate the stretch of the bungee considering weight and height, then dip your head in the water as a result. Definitely give it this a try

The Killiecrankie Highland Fling at 40 meters. The best experience I've ever had! Next time I want to do one that is at least 100m high.

Crazy and I loved it. Would do again, but I have already done the highest, so there is no where to go but up.

I did the jump in December 2012 with my Girlfriend at the time Leanne, her parents paid for me to do the jump as my Christmas present from them, the cost of the jump was R799

The Bloukrans Bungy is the worlds highest commercial bungy bridge. It is also the highest commercial natural bungy jump in the world. We have had a number of world records associated with Bloukrans. In 2003, Bloukrans bungy was recognised as the worlds highest commercial bungy jump. In 2008 we were part of two more world records. Veronica Dean performed 19 bungy jumps in one hour and Bill Boshoff performed 101 jumps in a 24 hour period. Bill’s world record was subsequently surpassed, but in 2011 we facillitated Scott Huntley to regain the world record with 107 jumps in the 24 hour period.

It was an enormous risk taking day of my life. It was just 100m but it was 100 times riskier. I was a dream that came true despite the chicken I am, I made it through. Thats all matters.

Done more than a dozen jumps now, including 2 reverse bungee. Strongly recommend it!
