I've never been a big fan of fancy dress - and I normally avoid situations where I'm forced to dress up.
But this Halloween I'm biting the bullet and going.

So normally I'm not a fancy dress kinda gal. Seriously. I hated the few times I was forced to dress-up for Halloween as a child (mainly witches, once a Dementor from HP) and aside from that my only dressing-up experience was Alice in Wonderland for a Hen Night.
But I'd never been to a fancy dress party and danced in a room full of other people dressed up like me...
So I agreed to go to a Halloween party. Here is my costume:
I'm a Bride of Dracula if you couldn't tell. I wanted to be Lucy Westernra, but I didn't have a long nightie and couldn't face the idea of explaining who I was all night. My best friend (sadly miles away) is a goth and is still squeeing at the idea of her girly best friend gothing it up (should that be vamping it up?)
Still I had plenty of friends along with me for the ride. Introducing the Eastgate Family:
And the Osbourne Family:
(Astute viewers may have noticed that the baby-weilding friend of mine appears in both - she was previously an Eastgate and now she's an Osbourne)
Did I have a good time? Surprisingly so. The costumes were pretty good - zombies, vampires, a (pervy) mummy, ghosts, a werewolf, a gorilla, a devil, and plenty more...
Dancing to 'Don't Stop Me Now' surrounded by zombies was completely meta - I had to resist the urge to bash them over the head with a pool cue Shaun of the Dead Style:
And this was my favourite costume...
And now I'm going to bed, slightly achey but very proud of my monster mash dancing...
