I was there in late afternoon in May 2009, and it was still mobbed in the chapel. If it is really important to you to commune with the chapel, I would research when is the least crowded time to go.

When I was there the crowd was awfull. and a guards kept saying "no pictures", and I saw people doing pictures all the time. and it made me so mad. why can't people respect anything these days? I was so upset I couldn't focus on the beauty of the chapel :(
