I've wanted to get a tattoo since I was in 15. For my 25th birthday my husband took me to get one. I chose a pansy because it was my grandmother's favorite flower and she had recently passed away.

Of course, they say that get a tattoo can become addictive and once you have one you'll want more. I plan to add a butterfly to this one. The night she passed away I had fallen asleep and when my dad called to give me the news there was a show on tv about Monarch Butterfly's. I remember watching fly across the screen as I talked to him on the phone. Then that whole week we spent planning her funeral and packing up her apartment, I kept seeing them everywhere. Including a pin she had of one in her jewelry box. I took it as a sign of her telling me that she was still here with me.
