Did a lot of this in my youth, growing up in Morro Bay CA. Even built my own skimboard at one point, fiberglass and all (didn't work as well as the ones from the local surf shop though). Had some amazing times. My body would never stand up this now :)
This isn't me, but it does capture the feeling pretty well!
